Three couples are stranded in the blackout caused by the strongest snow storm in the last twenty years that s enveloped Seattle. In the first story Ellen is on the way to her sister s wedding when the airport is locked down She s just about to rent a car when the power goes down Luckily for her, the last car was rented to her sister s future husband s best man Unfortunately than his best man duty, Zack is concentrating on convincing his friend not to marry On their way to Spokane, they slide off the road trying to avoid the eight reindeer and are forced to spend the night in a freezing car.The second story is set in a Seattle shopping mall where Gwyn takes three kids from the shelter her sister works for to see Santa She s surprised when the Santa on duty is really a very hot Santa a police officer under cover trying to prevent a robbery in a jewelry store. When the power goes out one of the kids, scared of the monsters lurking in the dark, runs and hides, right in the jewelry store where the robbery is already under way Gwyn runs after him and Nick has no other option but to join her as a hostage. In the third novella coffee shop owner Shanna, disillusioned with men who seek online to find dates, is in for a huge surprise when Kane, a regular that constantly brings his on line acquired dates to her coffees shop for their first date, offers to take her home in his Hummer when the blizzard turns ferocious Without a generator she packs a few of her belongings, grabs her cocker Scotch and joins Kane in his hotel room strictly as a good deed recipient But the two soon learn they have in common than their love for coffee. This was a sweet, Crismassy anthology featuring three cute, sweet, sometimes sexy stories, with the first of the bunch being the best, the second a little less, and the third the worst in the bunch but still sweet enough not to stink.Since they were novella lengths, some suspension of disbelief is needed, since the couples all fall head over heels for each other in a span of a few hours But the Christmas atmosphere, likable and rather well developed characters, a snow blizzard induced blackout and a romantic display of northern lights make up for the length, making this anthology a pleasant and feel good read.4 stars

I enjoyed these three short stories centered around the theme of a blackout in Seattle at Christmastime The writing was well done, the characters than cardboard, and the plots intricate enough to keep me reading.

The three stories in this collection are all winners as far as holiday short stories go I really loved the last one Kiss Me On Christmas The only problem I had with this set of stories is that only one of them really fit the imprint that they were published under. There was absolutely no suspense in the first and last stories Santa Under Cover was the only one that had suspense, thus it was a little light on the romance A nice trade off, as these short stories had everyone jumping into bed mere hours after they met Stranded With The Bridesmaid was cute, though the plot was a little bit cliche A bridesmaid and a groomsman stranded togetherwho would have thought they d fall in love This one could have been longer There were things I really wanted to know about each character that were kind of left open, like who the Senator was that Zach worked for You get the impression that it might be his father but it is never told to you Santa Under Cover definitely had the suspense going on A jewelry store robbery, a missing child and Christmas Plus the hero is a hot guy in a Santa suit What can you ask for Kiss Me On Christmas is my favorite of the three It centers around a coffee shop owner and guy who comes in with many many dates from an online dating service The blizzard leaves them stranded and the resulting situation makes for a sweet and somewhat steamy read. This isn t a perfect set of stories, but definitely a good holiday read

This book had three cute, brainless stories I read this book in an afternoon I really like Cornelison s writing and haven t read the other two authors so I was excited to pick this up I liked all three stories and the ideas behind them They even made me laugh However, I didn t have enough time to get to know the characters or get totally engaged in the plot There just wasn t enough to each of the stories for me There wasn t much character development so I just didn t seem to care how things ended in each story.Overall, all three stories are forgettable The reason that the book still gets a decent rating is because sometimes that s what I need I need something that isn t heavy, and that doesn t cause me to really evaluate the situations They really were good stories, just didn t contain enough for me.

Didn t finish the first two stories Both used the he kisses her to shut her up scenerio I HATE that cliche It ought to be beaten, shot, set on fire and the ashes peed on I thought it was a stupid scene the first time I read it, and it hasn t improved by the 100th time. The second story also has the heroine thinking, Hmmwe re being held hostage I know, I ll flash the gunman Seriously The third story was the only one that I finished It was a bit rushed, but that s not surprising, given the very restricted page count Also, there s no HEA ending, only a HFN, and that s one of my pet peeves I would like an epilogue to wrap things up and give me the HEA I might try stories by this author, though, as she had promise.
